Color Town’s Signature Paint Line Drives SalesBrightest New Idea Proves C2 Paint A Local Success

Newmarket, ON — April 1, 2004 – For the first time since opening paint store Color Town, owners Steve and Maria Miller, have customers going out of their way to thank them for carrying a quality product. After only six months of becoming owner-members in The Coatings Alliance and adopting its signature luxury line, C2 Collections of Color, sales of C2 have been steadily climbing and giving other more established brands a run for their money.

"It’s amazing," said Steve. "We have customers driving great distances to purchase C2. Because we are owners in the company, they know my staff and I represent the product directly and will stand behind it. Their enthusiasm for C2 is contagious and has served to renew my own excitement for the paint business which was really beginning to suffer an identity crisis."

C2 paint was developed by a cooperative of independent paint dealers who, like Miller were fed up with the toll that rampant consolidation was taking on the quality and identity of products in their stores. In 1998, they formed The Coatings Alliance, the first paint company in the world to offer dealers ownership in a paint line, profit sharing and direct control over the quality and direction of the brand. Miller attributes C2's growing following to its unique European tinting system, which uses 16 colorants – more than any other paint manufactured in North America. This not only gives the color more complexity, but it allows for excellent coverage, UV and fade protection, and scrub-resistance.

"The store's design staff is crazy about C2's colors," said Miller.
